I believe that God is in control of all that goes on in the world since the beginning and will continue throughout eternity. The Westminster Confession of Faith says of God's Eternal Decree, "God, from all eternity, did, by the most wise and holy counsel of his own will, freely, and unchangeably ordain whatsoever comes to pass: yet so, as thereby neither is God the author of sin, nor is violence offered to the will of the creatures; nor is the liberty or contingency of second causes taken away, but rather established." Furthermore Scripture teaches us that God "...changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding" (Dan 2:21 ESV). Jesus said to Pilate during his interrogation before Pilate "You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above..." (Joh 19:11 ESV). I believe that Satan is the god of this world, 2 Cor 4:4, but Satan can only do what God Almighty allows through His permissive will. If we believe that God would ordain the most anti-Christian event that ever took place, namely the slaughter of His son, then it is not hard to believe that He would be in control of who would win the Presidential election. Be asssured, God is in control. The events that happen in Revelation and other prophetic books of Scripture will come to pass; don't fear that they might (and I stress, might) be happening at this time, but glory in the fact that God is faithful and that all His promisses to His children will be fulfilled!
